Beginner Rider Trainer
FEI Level 1 Certified Coach
Originally from Toronto, Regina discovered her love of horseback riding at the age of 12 while attending summer camp at Rainbow Valley Ranch in Caledon Hills, Ontario. Soon thereafter she and her sister acquired a horse together and began competing at horse shows in the hunter and equitation divisions. Until the birth of her two daughters (now grown), Regina owned her own horse and rode regularly, but took a break to raise her family. Twelve years after the birth of her oldest daughter she started riding again in Cayman and two years later she purchased her current horse, a Holsteiner mare named Leonora. At this time, Regina began studying natural horsemanship techniques and is Certified at Level 3 and has completed part of level 4 of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Program.
Regina joined the Equestrian Center teaching staff in 2014 and began to study dressage more seriously. She completed her FEI Level 1 Coach course shortly thereafter and currently focuses on teaching beginning children and adults to ride. In addition, she helps exercise horses for the Equestrian Center, run riding camps and pony clubs and assist in the day-to-day care of the horses as needed. She believes her biggest personal accomplishement is the freestyle liberty ground work she has achieved with her horse Leonora.
Regina has a patient and correct teaching style which provides an excellent framework for the basics of riding. She has a keen awareness and understanding of each of her students and meets each individual’s needs. She loves introducing new riders to the joys of riding and horsemanship and her daily goal is to help her students develop a passion for horses..
