Jessica McTaggart

Head Dressage Trainer
FEI Level 2 Certified Coach

Jessica grew up at the Equestrian Center riding everything she possibly could.  She began specializing in dressage while at university, studying under trainer Cindy Thaxton at High Point Farm (www.highpointfarm.org). where she also took regular clinics with Felicitas von Neuuman-Cosel. Jessica and her mare, Kartouche, competed through Prix St.Georges as a young rider.

A few years later, Jessica and Ray of Light, represented Cayman in international competition at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC) and the 2011 Pan American Games, which was the first time the Cayman Islands was represented in equestrian sports internationally.  The pair had many starts in CDI’s and Nation’s Cup events on the East Coast of the US, and were named Reserve Champions at the Intermediate 1 level in USDF Region 3 in 2010.

Jessica returned to the Cayman Islands in 2014, bringing her beloved Ray of Light with her, and assumed the position as head dressage trainer for the Equestrian Center.

For the past 7 years, Jessica has been a member of the Cayman Team for every CEA Caribbean Dressage Challenge and FEI World Dressage Challenge.  She is currently bringing along her horse Loris 7, whom she acquired as a 4 year old, for the 2018/2019 CAC and Pan Am Games. She loves instilling the love of dressage into her young and young-at-heart riders and watching the horses flourish with correct work.
